September 2002      Hecny Group adopts Descartes' 20/20 Visibility Program
 

 

Hong Kong, September 30, 2002. Hecny Group announced today the adoption of Descartes?20/20 Visibility Program. The Program provides shipment status visibility and Trading Partner Platform for buyer, supplier and freight forwarder.
The Program delivers shipment status visibility on a common platform facilitating the exchange of data and information flow between suppliers, buyer, and freight forwarder. 20/20 Visibility provides a platform which enables a buyer to create Purchase Orders, its respective suppliers to retrieve these Purchase Orders and confirm acceptance in form of Sales Orders, and the forwarder to update shipment milestones as it happens.

"As each PO is represented by its respective PO line, the buyer can keep track of each order in transit," explained Arnold Lee, vice president of Hecny Group. "Given all the communications are done in the same platform, this visibility minimizes cross-referencing and reduces duplicate manual procedures," he further added.

The inaugural project is to work in conjunction with Hecny Shipping Limited’s longtime strategic partner - Global Link Logistics - a leading logistics provider in furniture movement from the Fareast to North America. "I am truly excited about the added benefits made avail to our valued customers through this connectivity system. Direct information sharing is definitely the way to go." Said Chad Rosenberg, CEO of Global Link Logistics. A working team is now doing all preparation work and this project is scheduled to be rolled out in three months' time. This Descartes' 20/20 Visibility Program shall be introduced to Hecny Group's VIP customers and other agent partners in due course.
